Every task you check off is a step in a procedurally generated story — you earn achievements and watch it unfold based on your real-life progress. You start in the Zen Garden, a peaceful world that grows as you go, included with the app. Longer journeys like Viaje al Oeste — a crossing of the desert, about patience and horizons — are optional purchases, each with its own voice, achievements and artwork. They are what keeps Akari itself free.

Your data stays yours
We run no server that receives your tasks. Everything lives on your device, and if you turn on syncing it goes to your own computer or your own server — encrypted before it leaves, with a password only you hold. Nothing is read or sold. See our Privacy Policy.
It also lives on your computer
Akari runs on Windows and Linux as a real desktop app — not a website in a frame. And when you want your phone and your computer to agree, they talk to each other directly. There is no Akari cloud to sign up for, because there is no Akari cloud.
Akari Host
Your computer becomes the server. Turn it on and it offers your Akari folder to your own devices over your home network — no internet, no account, nothing leaving the house. It can sit quietly in the system tray, if you ask it to.
Akari Sync
The other side of the pairing. Your phone finds the computer on the network by itself, or you scan a QR code, or you type a short code — whichever is least annoying at that moment. Prefer your own Nextcloud or ownCloud instead? Point it at any WebDAV server you control.
Encrypted before it leaves the device.
Whatever is synced is sealed with AES-256-GCM under a password only you know, and the first time a device meets your computer it pins that exact machine's fingerprint — so a stranger on the same café Wi-Fi is talking to nobody. Details in the Privacy Policy.

Code signing costs money we're saving toward, so for now Windows doesn't recognize us as a publisher. Click More info, then Run anyway — it's the same installer this page links to, nothing else. Linux builds aren't published yet; write to [email protected] if you'd like one early.
